To edit a test procedure:

1. In the USoft BenchMark toolbox, double-click Procedures in the Test Database list.

The Test Procedures window appears.

2. Perform a query that retrieves the data of the appropriate procedure.
3. Do any of the following:
· To specify whether or not the test is a valid one, check or clear the Valid checkbox. This is for your own use and has nothing to do with the running of the procedure.

· To specify a keyword, click the lookup button in the Keyword field, and select a keyword from the list that appears. Note that, if you want to use a new keyword, you must have defined it previously.

· To specify a goal, type a description of the goal or purpose of the procedure in the Goal field.

· To specify a loop, type a number in the Iterations field, enter a condition in the Condition field, or specify an external set and filename to be used.

· To nest other procedures as a step in the current procedure, put the cursor in the lower box, and insert a new record at the point where the procedure is to be nested. In the Procedure field, click the lookup button to select a procedure from the list that is displayed.

· To add a new step, put the cursor in the lower box, and insert a new record at the point where the step is to be. Then edit the step as necessary.

· To delete a step, put the cursor in the Step Id field in the lower box, and click the delete record button on the toolbar.

· To edit a step, put the cursor in the lower box, and make any changes required.

· To copy steps from another procedure, in the USoft BenchMark toolbox, click the Objects List button to display the BenchMark Objects list.

Select the Test Steps option, and click Open to display the Test Steps window.

Perform a query that retrieves the step you want to copy.

Press the DOWNARROW key to go to the next record.

In your application, choose Record, New, and then choose Duplicate Record.

In the Procedure Name field, enter the name of the procedure that you want the step inserted into.

If required, change the value in the Order field to specify the sequence in which the steps of this procedure are to be executed.

· To add or edit a step check, put the cursor in the appropriate record in the lower info box and choose Box, Related, and then choose Step Checks That Validate This Step. You can then add a new step check to be executed after the chosen step, specifying the order if required, or make the required changes to an existing one.

· To add or edit a procedure check, put the cursor in any field in the upper box and choose Box, Related, and then choose Procedure Checks That Validate This Procedure. You can then add a new procedure check to be executed after playing the procedure, specifying the order if required, or make the required changes to an existing one.

· To view the structure of the procedure, choose Special, Show Procedure Tree.

A dialog appears that provides a graphical view of the selected procedure plus any nested procedures that it may have.

You can double-click on a (sub-)procedure to expand or collapse the tree at that point.

To see the definitions of a nested procedure, click ShowData. The Test Procedures window will now display the data of the selected (nested) procedure.

Click the dialog's Close button to return to the Test Procedures window.
