When you have finished designing a particular class, you should save your work. If you save your work as a class, all its subclasses are also affected by your changes. If you save your work as a subclass, a new subclass is created for the class you have been editing.

NOTE:

The first time that you save a class in the Windows Designer, it may take quite a while. The reason is that numerous records have to be inserted into the ESI tables.

To save your design efforts as a class:

· Make sure that the class you want to save is in the active design view.

· From the menu bar, choose File, Save, or press Ctrl+A.

To save your design efforts as a subclass:

· Make sure that the class you want to save is in the active design view.

· From the menu bar, choose File, Save As.

· The Save As dialog appears.

· In the Name field, type a name for the (new) subclass.

NOTE:

The names of classes must be unique throughout the Windows Designer catalog. You cannot even have a window and a dialog with the same name.

· Click OK.
