How to Define a Task Set

To be able to define a task set, first make sure that all task set "components" that you need are defined, in terms of repository versions, releases, baskets, comparisons, and release comparisons.

IMPORTANT:

If you plan to use task sets with USoft 7.0/7.1 repositories, you have to specify the Task Sets – us7path setting in the Folder Locations window once. For example:

C:\Program Files\usd70

To define a task set:

1.From the Repository Manager menu, select Define, Task Sets.
or
Open the Task sets window from the Configure Tab of the catalog
The Task Sets window opens.
2.Specify a unique Name for the task set, and optionally a Description.
For example: Export TRAVEL repositories, with description:
Exports today's Development, Test, and Acceptance versions of the Travel Agency.
You can now define tasks in the related box. For each task:
3.Choose a task Type from the dropdown list.
A task can be a Compare, Create, Export, Flat Files, Import Into, Open, Task Set, and XML View task. For more information, refer to: Tasks within a Task Set.
4.In the On field, specify the repository type (Definer, Authorizer, BenchMark, or Application).
This does NOT apply to Flat Files , Task Set and XML View tasks.
5.Specify a Host Repository, and other fields as follows:

6.Optionally, you can make a task inactive by setting the Active field to No.
7.For a Create, Flat File, or Import Into task, click the Task Details button, to specify optional details.
8.Save your changes.
9.Click the Create Batch File button to create an MS-DOS batch file on disk.
