How to Define Rule Sets

Previous Next

A rule set is a logical cluster of business rules; this could be, for example:

A group of rules that together constitute a process.

A logical group of restrictive rules (e.g. rules that safeguard the integrity of address information).

To define rule sets:

From the menu bar, choose TeamWork, Preparation, Rule Sets or double-click Rule Sets in the catalog.

The Rule Sets window appears.

Provide the rule set with a code, and a name.

Indicate the business area to which the rule set applies.

In the Description field, describe the process covered by the rule set(s).

For each of the business rules that belong to this set, enter a sequence number. This sequence number will ensue that output is displayed in the right order, making it easier to understand.
