How to Determine the Space between Prompts and Fields

Previous Next

In default single-record windows, the width of Header objects within a Column Box object is determined by the length of the longest prompt. This also determines the space between the other prompts and data fields.

If you INCREASE the width of one the Headers, the others will automatically resize with it. (After this you will not be able to see which one had its width set explicitly, and which ones implicitly resized with it.) You are advised to choose the Header object with the LONGEST prompt (which you can always recognize later on). You should use that same Header object again if you later want to decrease the width.

In default related and multi-record windows, the height of the Header object is determined by the height of the largest prompt, which also determines the position of the first row of fields.
