How to Use Related Windows when Querying

Previous Next

When you define a query, you can use a window's related windows to further fine-tune your search specifications. These conditions will be AND-ed to your query.

Rather than putting each of these windows in Query mode separately, it is easier to first open all required windows and then put the parent window in Query mode. The parent window is the window that represents the parent in the relationship.

To define a query, using related windows:

Open the parent window.

Click the Related List button to open the list of related windows, and open each one that is required.

Click on the parent window to give it focus.

Put the window in Query mode.

In the various (related) windows, enter your search specifications.

Execute the query.
