Recorder

Once you have installed USoft BenchMark and created the BenchMark tables, you can start your application together with USoft BenchMark and begin recording test procedures using the Recorder.

You can also record default test procedures using the Wizard.

You can record a procedure as a step in another procedure, which is itself a step in another procedure, and so on, allowing you to nest sub-procedures and to reuse previously defined ones. If a procedure has many nested sub-procedures, it can become difficult to keep an overview of the situation. USoft BenchMark provides the possibility to display a graphical 'tree' representation of the nested sub-procedures, and access the definitions of each one.

Once a procedure exists, you can run it immediately by defining a test that executes the procedure, or make manual adjustments to it first, to suit your needs. For example, you may want to change the order in which the steps of a procedure are executed, or you may want to add or delete steps.

A procedure may be repeated any number of times. This "loop" may continue:

A fixed number of times.

As long as a condition is met (for example, as long as there are records in a table, delete the records one by one).

Until all data in an external file has been used.

Any combination of the above.

USoft BenchMark stores all the procedure information, and the test results, in its own tables. This means that you do not need to start your application and USoft BenchMark together if you just want to look at the results, or edit an existing procedure. It is possible to start USoft BenchMark by itself, if required.
