Resident Windows

Previous Next

Limit the maximum number of resident windows kept in memory.

Background

By default, there can be up to 10 windows in the workspace cache (resident windows). You can limit the client memory used for caching windows by setting the Maximum No of Resident Windows property to a lower value.

When to use

This tip is especially useful if:

There are only a couple of heavily designed windows that are often used.

The client computer has a relative small amount of memory.

To limit the maximum number of resident windows:

1.From the Windows Designer menu bar, choose Edit, Select, Application.
The Property Inspector for the application properties is opened.
2.On the General tab page, select the Maximum No of Resident Windows property.
3.Set this property to a lower value.
4.Choose File, Save All from the menu.
