You can add your own data sources based upon the USoft Remote Rules Service API, for example, for different application databases. You can define as many data sources as you want.
To define an additional data source:
1. | Open the Control Panel from the Start menu. |
2. | Double-click the Administrative Tools icon, and in the resulting list, double-click the Data Sources (ODBC) icon. |
| The ODBC Data Source Administrator tab set displays. |
| NOTE: IF you are using a Vista 64-bit machine, Windows displays the incorrect ODBC Data Source Administrator by default, so the list of available data sources will appear to be empty. You can start the correct version of the data source administrator using the following command: |
%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
| This could be added as a shortcut in the Administrative Tools window for convenience |
4. | Select USoft Remote Rules Services 8.0 from the list of installed ODBC drivers, and click OK. |
| An empty USoft Remote Rules Service API Configuration dialog is displayed. |
5. | Complete the entries in the dialog, as described under "How to Complete the ODBC Configuration Dialog", but use a different Data Source name for each copy of the ODBC driver configuration. |
