A project in USoft Binder is a specific application of USoft products in your business. A project is associated with a database account in which USoft products store all the information needed to develop, test and deploy the application.
A project in USoft Binder is associated with a single USoft Binder file that conventionally has the file extension .usb. This file is used to access the various USoft products for the project with the correct settings and startup parameters.
Creating a project
To create a new project:
| 1. | If you have not already done so, start USoft Binder from the Start menu. |
| 2. | Choose File, New from the menu. |
| The Project tab of the Project Properties sheet is displayed. |
| 3. | Set appropriate properties on the Project tab of the Project Properties sheet. |
| 4. | Set appropriate properties on the Database tab of the Project Properties sheet. |
| 5. | Add items on the Content tab of the Project Properties sheet and set properties for each item. |
| 6. | Choose File, Save As to save your work in a file. |
Opening a project
To open an existing project:
| 1. | If you have not already done so, start USoft Binder from the Start menu. |
| 2. | Choose File, Open from the USoft Binder main menu.The Open File dialog will be displayed. |
| 3. | Select the Project file you wish to work with (use the Look In box if necessary to locate it). |
You can also open a project by double-clicking the USoft Binder project file in the file system.
Setting display (View) options for a project
In the View menu of USoft Binder, you have a number of display options to tailor the Binder window to your preference. These options are reached from the View option in the main menu or the View option on the context menu (right mouse button) of each Binder item:

Toolbar
|
The toolbar is the band with icon buttons across the top. You can choose to show or hide the Toolbar. Use the Toolbar toggle in the View menu.

Status bar
|
The Status Bar is the band with information messages across the bottom. You can choose to show or hide the Status Bar. Use the Status Bar toggle in the View menu.

Item display
|
You can choose how you want the project items displayed in USoft Binder:
•Large Icons •Small Icons •List •Details To select one of these options, press the corresponding button in the toolbar, or choose the option from the View menu.

Arrange Items
|
To order the selected Project items by name or by type.
|
Command Line
|
When the Details option is selected, you can choose to show, or hide, the Command Line of each project item.
To toggle the Command Line display on or off, use View, Command Line.
