For administrative reasons, you want to uninstall a Rules Service that you do not wish to use anymore.
It is also essential to uninstall Rules Services from a computer from which you uninstall USoft. Otherwise, if a Rules Service was started with the "Start service at boot time" option, you will get an Event Log error message the next time the computer is started.
To uninstall a Rules Service from USoft Binder on a Windows server:
1. | Open the appropriate USoft Binder project. |
2. | Right-mouse-click the Rules Service item and select Properties from the context menu. |
3. | In the properties sheet, press the Stop button if this button is sensitive (= the Rules Service is running). |
4. | Press the Uninstall button. |
|
This option is necessary if you have uninstalled USoft but a USoft Rules Service is still registered, eg., as a Windows service on MS Windows.
On MS Windows, use a command line prompt (cmd.exe, PowerShell) to stop and uninstall the Windows service.
|
This option is appropriate in test, tutorial and demo situations where you are likely to clean up installations prior to re-installing them. The USoft Blend scripting framework has routines for stopping and uninstalling Rules Services. Go to the USoft Blend Guide at developer.usoft.com.
