Rules-Centred Architecture

Previous Next

Web applications built with Web Designer typically have their place in an extremely flexible rules-centred architecture where the USoft rules engine is responsible for storing, delivering and structuring data and executing business rules on that data.

The rules engine will enforce rule logic at all times, even if sollicited by a variety of clients (whether Web, non-Web, humans or machines, synchronous or asynchronous agents). This is possible because of careful layering of components.

The USoft rules engine is the database interface for all. Web servers may approach the rules engine through a thin separate layer called the USoft Rules Service.

For information about the rules engine, consult the USoft Definer Guide.
