Overview of External Sets

An external set describes the structure and format of an external file to be imported or exported. It defines the file format, the record separator, and the data type, length, and format of individual fields in the file.

The file formats supported are:

·	FIXED (length)

·	FIXEDVLE (fixed length with variable-length last element)

·	VARIABLE (length)

·	CSV (Comma-Separated Values)

In addition, you can export data to HTML documents, for use with a web browser.
