How to Load Meta-Data From USoft Developer to Microsoft Repository |
To load meta-data from USoft Developer into Microsoft Repository:
If not, you first need to set up Data Model Loader connections.
Before connecting to a Microsoft Access or SQL Server data source for the first time, you may need to initialize it as a Microsoft Repository source. The External Connection pane now shows a representation of the external meta-data you connected to.
Before you do that, you may need to re-organize the External Connection object hierarchy by using the New, Rename or Delete options from the Load menu. When navigating through the tree views, you can click Stop to interrupt lengthy tree view node expansion.
Selected items are marked by overlay icons on leaf nodes, NOT at folder node level. Only tables and relationships OWNED (as opposed to shared) by a business object can be transferred. They can only be selected by expanding the business object node that owns them. The overlay icons mark the elements that will actually be transferred.
The meta-data is now loaded to Microsoft Repository. If required, you can interrupt lengthy transfer procedures by clicking Stop. To view newly loaded data in the External Connection pane, select the parent folder in this pane. Click Refresh, or choose Load, Refresh Folder from the menu bar. Inspect transfer log and error information by choosing Load, Transfer Log and Error Log options from the menu bar. Deal with errors as required. |
