How to Select the Parent of a Selected Object

For some purposes you need to select the parent of the object that is currently selected. For example, if you want to set the layout of columns, you must select the parent that contains them (i.e. the Column Box).

To select the parent of a selected object:

·	Make sure the mouse cursor is above the selected object, and the corrsponding entry in the object tree is highlighted.

·	Hold down the ALT key, then click the left mouse button.

The parent object is now marked by eight dots ("selection handles").
