To define a transitional
domain constraint:

From the menu bar choose Define, Constraints, Domain. |
The Domain Constraints window
appears.

Fill out the various fields of the window. (See the What's
This? help for more details.) Click on the Action tab to fill out
the Message and Make Sure That fields. |
Keep the following in
mind:

When defining a restrictive domain constraint, skip the Make
Sure That field. |

When defining a corrective domain constraint, specify the
correction in the Make Sure That field, and optionally a condition
in the Do Not Allow That field. |

To refer to the old domain value, use the OLD() function in the
Do Not Allow That field, in the Make Sure That field, or in
both. |

Click the Check button to have your constraint checked, or
choose Special, Check Constraint from the menu bar. |
If the constraint is correct,
the Correct field is checked.

Save your changes in the database. |
