A Jump Start: The Default Application |
The default application is a fully functioning web application that USoft composes on the basis of the business model and rules you declared in USoft Definer. Without doing any "painting" work, you can publish this default application in matter of seconds from Web Designer. Visually, it will not look at all the way you want it, but you can quickly make it look at least acceptable for prototyping by adding some general settings in CSS. The default application mechanism has a number of advantages: •When you have a dta model and rules, you can get a "jump start" in creating web applications: a lot of functionality is already there and does not need to be programmed. •When model and rules change, these changes will automatically cascade to the pages of your web applications. •Fast prototyping in agile development becomes a real possibility, because all the major data interaction functionality is realized without web programming (without scripting).
Web Designer uses model and rules information from USoft Definer to build the default application USoft Web Designer does not only let you work with obvious lower-level structures such as database table names, column names, and datatypes. The default application re-uses and implements also: •Parent-child relationships and their properties. •Supertype-subtype relationships and their properties. •Restrictive constraints on data, also in multi-table constellations.
