Default Lookup Buttons |
When you define Relationships, lookup buttons are automatically created. They offer navigation between form data in a child table and lookup data in the related parent table. The default lookup buttons below offer navigation to Lookup Pages, because the underlying relationship has Lookup Method = "Lookup Window or Page". Alternatively, you can set the Relationship's Lookup Method to "Dropdown List" or "Radio". This results in a different lookup facility where the user manipulates a dropdown list or a group of radio buttons instead of navigating to a separate Lookup Page. Here is a Search pane with two default lookup buttons on foreign key fields referring to a parent Tours table. These lookup buttons allow the user to navigate to a Lookup Page where she may select a tour to be used in the Search. The Search pane has single-record display. The reason there are two lookup buttons instead of one is that the Tours - Scheduled Tours relationship is defined across the combination of 2 columns (Destination and Type): Here is an Edit pane with the same two lookup buttons. These lookup buttons allow the user to select a possible Tour for use in a Scheduled Tours record. The Edit pane has multi-record display:
