How to Set Additional Parameters

Additional parameters are only relevant to run-time deployment of your USoft application, not to the development environment. They affect the way in which USoft software is run for a particular run-time user.

USoft uses built-in optimization features at run time. You can improve performance further by supplying additional parameter values based on your knowledge of the run-time environment.

To set additional parameters:

1.	Decide what the access mode of user groups is in terms of network architecture.

You should at least make separate deployment configurations for local users and for users connecting via wide area networks. You may want to accept the LAN or WAN default configurations delivered with USoft Authorizer.

2.	Decide what the access mode of user groups is in terms of on-line or batch processing. If a user group uses both, you may want to differentiate between on-line and batch access by switching between the On Line and the Batch tabs in the Deployment Configurations window.

3.	The next step is to decide how many configurations you need to define and which user groups are associated with each configuration.

4.	For each configuration, you need to specify the additional parameter settings.

If the parameter is in the Additional Parameters box, (re)set it by editing the Value field. Do NOT attempt to edit the Name or Impact Area fields.

5.	Apply each configuration by associating it with one or more user groups.
