Free Object Properties

A Free Object item enables you to start up non-USoft applications, such as your favorite word processor or report writer.

To create a Free Object item:

1.Choose Item, New from the menu, check the Free Object checkbox, then press Add.
2.Open the new item's Item Property sheet by choosing Properties from the right-mouse menu.
3.Give the new item a suitable name.
4.In the Startup Options box, type the complete command line required to start the action. Save work.

 

To use a Free Object item:

1.Select the Free Object item in the USoft Binder main window.
2.Press the Enter key.

 

A Free Object item in USoft Binder has the following parameters.

Name

This is the name of the Free Object item as it will be displayed in the main window of the USoft Binder file. You can use binder variables in this namer.

Program

This is where you specify the path and name of the executable that this Free Object item is to start.

Startup Options

This is where you can list any additional startup options you wish to be associated with executable for this Free Object item. This property is well-suited for using USoft Binder variables.

Start In

This is where you can specify the directory/folder in which the program run by the Free Object item must start. The default (if nothing is specified here) is the USoft program directory.
