How to Analyze and/or Import an Export File

An import of an object may conflict with existing repository contents in which case the object cannot be imported. Using the Import Analysis facility you may view these conflicts before importing the object(s). You can then change the repository to be able to import the objects. After the import you can delete the parts you do not need, and tune others to suit your needs.

Note that the resulting IAF file will only report "differences". It does not report what would actually be imported.

To analyze a file to be imported:

•From the menu bar, choose TeamWork, Object Shopping, Analyze and Import.

The first dialog of the Import Wizard appears.

•Enter the requested information in the each of the wizard's dialogs. You can use the What's This? help in the wizard for more information.
